Photos from Lesley Magwood Fraser of South Africa

Lesley was kind enough to take pictures of some typically African scenes-particularly laundry lines because she knows about my project. She shares my intrigue with these kinds of domestic images. The animal hide line is so amazing to me. I have never seen anything like that. She took most of them from a speeding auto and while she suggested I might want to tweek them in Photoshop, I think they're perfect the way they are!

These are wonderful and make me yearn! Wow. You know I too am a fan of laundry and other things swaying in the breeze--or just hanging--and these are just, I don't know, beautiful in their nitty-gritty. I have to say, the bowl with utensils gets me. In a big way. BIG. Thanks for showing these, Diane, I'll be looking again and again.

Ask Lesley, but I wouldn't be surprised if some portion of the SA population would see a cat as a Thanksgiving meal. Monkey meat is tough and tastes like chicken.
