My Art-o-Mat Pieces

I have been involved with Art=O=Mat Vending Machine project for several years now. Old cigarette machines (project founded in NC home of RJReynolds Tobacco) are converted into art dispensers. Mini pieces of all kinds of art are placed inside. My contribution are collaged keychain tags.

You don't make a lot of money, but it's fun. I made a batch of 100 last time that is almost out. Took me forever and a day!! You should do it Lisa:)

Great day in the morning! I LOVE this!!!!!!! I want to buy. How? I'd also like to attempt to offer some of the stranger stuff I have collected. Do you think anyone would buy tiny vials of urine? Joke but I do love this.

Hi Nadine! I think the locations of the machines are at the web site, but not sure. They send me a card with all the places of the pieces I've sold and it's always different. Strange stuff? Oooo do tell. Urine? Hmm. sounds like something you should definately send as mail art--just not to me:)

I participate. They're out of Mim4Art so I'm going to start working on a new set of 50 pieces. Once I got a card saying I'd sold pieces at the Borders, but I read it, not as the now defunct book store chain, but as like the borders with Canada and Mexico. ha haha ha. Also, I would tell people that I was in the Whitney Museum in NYC, in a machine, in the basement, by the ladies room. ha ha ha True, actually. I like your keychains very much. Great idea.

Oh wow, I just looked it up and learned there's an art-o-mat at a gallery in Portland, 15 miles away! Who knew? I don't suppose I can force it to spit out one of those great Diane keys chains ...

I need to make another batch of 100 so I think I can find one to send to you:) Mim, I'd love to see what pieces you make for art of mat. Hey, being in the big museums counts for a lot right? better than our art being up on the ladies' room walls!
